The popular multiplayer horror game, Dead by Daylight, has recently announced a new chapter inspired by Dungeons & Dragons. The next killer to be added to the game is Vecna, a long-running mega-baddie and a well-known character from the world of D&D. Voiced by Critical Role dungeon master Matthew Mercer, Vecna will bring a whole new dynamic to the game. The new dungeon map will provide players with an immersive experience, while introducing new elf and bard survivors to the mix. These survivors will have unique abilities, such as rolling a literal d20 when opening treasure chests. The addition of Vecna and the D&D crossover is sure to excite fans of both franchises.

Vecna, the lich villain from D&D, will come equipped with four powerful spells, a first for Dead by Daylight. These spells include the ability to fly, fire off projectiles, manipulate objects using Mage Hand, and reveal survivors with a Dispelling Sphere. Vecna’s Hand and Eye, along with other magical items, can be found in treasure chests around the new Forgotten Ruins map. Players will have the chance to obtain powerful gear by rolling a d20 when opening these chests. However, a critical fail could spell trouble for the survivors. The introduction of new spells and abilities will surely shake up the gameplay and provide a fresh challenge for players.

The new survivors introduced in this chapter are The Troupe, consisting of Baermar Uraz and Aestri Yazar. These human and elf bard characters have the ability to create illusions, provide Bardic Inspiration to allies, and spot nearby generators and items. The unique skills of The Troupe will require players to strategize and work together in order to outsmart Vecna and survive the deadly game. The addition of new survivors adds depth to the gameplay and offers a fresh perspective on how to approach each match.

Following the D&D crossover, Behaviour Interactive has teased an upcoming chapter inspired by Castlevania. Players can expect new challenges, characters, and maps to be introduced in this next chapter. Additionally, a brand new supersized casual mode is set to be released, allowing for two killers to face off against eight survivors. With perks disabled and a class system in place, players will need to adapt their strategies in order to come out on top. More details on this new mode will be released in July, with a planned launch later in the summer.

In addition to the new content, Behaviour Interactive has announced other exciting projects, such as Supermassive’s narrative spin-off, The Casting of Frank Stone, and a two-player co-op roguelite set inside a Jumanji-like cursed board game titled What the Fog. These expansions and spin-offs aim to keep players engaged and offer a variety of gameplay experiences within the Dead by Daylight universe.

Overall, the Dungeons & Dragons crossover in Dead by Daylight promises to be an exciting addition to the game. With the introduction of Vecna as the next killer, along with new survivors and spells, players can look forward to a fresh and challenging gaming experience. As Behaviour Interactive continues to expand and innovate, fans can expect even more thrilling content in the future.
