The anticipation for Fallout 5 continues to grow as fans eagerly await any news on the next installment in the series. Bethesda’s slow approach to releasing sequels, as seen with The Elder Scrolls 6 taking nearly thirteen years since Skyrim, has left many wondering when we will see the next chapter in the Fallout universe.

In a bid to capitalize on the popularity of Fallout, Call of Duty has introduced a collaboration with the series. However, the crossover has left much to be desired. The opportunity to dress military shooter characters in vault dweller jumpsuits is a lackluster take on the rich world of mutants and radioactive creatures that define the Fallout universe.

The Fallout Vault Dweller tracer pack offered in the collaboration includes over 15 items, such as Fallout-themed gun blueprints for a “Vault-Tec Approved” M16 and an “Atomic Disintegrator” HRM-9. Additionally, charms, calling cards, decals, emblems, stickers, and loading screens are part of the package. These items can be used in Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and Warzone Mobile, with an in-game Vault Dwellers event scheduled from June 20th to June 26th.

While some may find excitement in the opportunity to don vault dweller attire while engaging in combat, many fans have expressed their disappointment with the lack of innovation in the collaboration. The blue-and-yellow jumpsuits do little to capture the essence of Fallout’s immersive world, leaving players underwhelmed by the crossover.

The Fallout and Call of Duty collaboration, while intended to bring together two popular franchises, falls short of expectations due to its lack of creativity. With the vast lore and unique elements present in the Fallout universe, the simplistic addition of vault dweller skins in Call of Duty feels like a missed opportunity to create a more engaging and immersive crossover experience.

As fans continue to hope for the release of Fallout 5, the recent collaboration between Fallout and Call of Duty serves as a reminder of the importance of creativity and innovation in such partnerships. While the crossover may appeal to some players, it ultimately fails to capture the essence of the Fallout universe, leaving many longing for a more inspired and engaging collaboration between these two iconic franchises.
