Fans of the Ys series have something to look forward to in early 2025 as Marvelous Europe and XSEED officially announced the arrival of the “remastered classic” Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana on the Nintendo Switch. The game will be available for $59.99 in select locations and will come with a range of goodies, including a 4 postcard set, keychain/diorama set, soundtrack game, and a microfiber cloth.
Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana follows the story of protagonist Adol and his companion Dogi as they return to Dogi’s homeland of Felghana after eight years. The once peaceful lands are now overrun with monsters, an active volcano, and a new overlord causing suffering to the residents. As Dogi seeks help from his former master, Adol gets entangled in a world of conspiracies and ancient legacies.
One of the highlights of the remastered edition is the improved visuals and music, bringing the epic adventure to life like never before. Players can enjoy the classic action RPG combat that the Ys series is known for, with added difficulty options and quality-of-life enhancements like “Turbo” mode.
In addition to the enhanced visuals and music, Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana also introduces new features such as refined character illustrations, voice acting for Adol Christin, and multiple versions of the sweeping soundtrack to choose from. Players can switch between “Refined” and “Classic” character illustrations, and enjoy newly recorded voice acting for the protagonist Adol.
The announcement of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana’s arrival on the Nintendo Switch in early 2025 comes after a potential localization hint was dropped ahead of Anime Expo 2024. XSEED Games accidentally shared an image of their line up for the event, referencing a demo of the game. This updated version of the game, based on Ys III: Wanderers From Ys, was originally released in Japan in April 2023.
With the official announcement of Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana’s remastered edition coming to the Nintendo Switch in early 2025, fans of the series have a lot to look forward to. From the enhanced visuals and music to the new features and potential localization, this version promises to be the definitive edition of the acclaimed RPG classic.
