Modders MerseyRockoff and glassfish77 have once again proven their talent by restoring a series of boat racing quests in the beloved open-world RPG, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. These quests, now available in mod form, bring a new level of excitement to the game for players looking for a unique experience.
The modders took it upon themselves to create the boat racing quests from scratch, utilizing CD Projekt Red’s original writing as a foundation for their work. By delving into the game files, they were able to extract all the necessary dialogues, characters, journal entries, and quest board notices to ensure that the mod stays true to the game’s immersive world.
Players will have the opportunity to partake in four thrilling tournaments, starting from Novigrad and then choosing to sail towards either the city or Redania. While boat racing in The Witcher 3 may not have been the most exhilarating feature, the addition of these quests brings a refreshing change of pace to the game. The modders’ attention to detail and dedication to maintaining the game’s authenticity is truly commendable.
This isn’t the first time modders have unearthed hidden gems within The Witcher 3. Recently, a significant portion of cut content, including a scene involving Yennefer betraying the Lodge Of Sorceresses, was discovered. The modding community’s ability to uncover these lost pieces of the game’s narrative adds a whole new dimension to the player experience.
With the release of modding tools like REDKit, the possibilities for enhancing The Witcher 3 seem endless. While some concepts, like the infamous ice skating swordfights, may never see the light of day, there is no shortage of creative minds within the modding community. As we eagerly await future updates and innovations, it’s clear that the world of The Witcher 3 will continue to evolve thanks to the dedication of modders.
