Rimac, the renowned company known for producing the lightning-fast Nevera EV, has recently introduced an even more powerful variant called the Nevera R. This upgraded version of their electric supercar boasts an astonishing acceleration time of 1.74 seconds from 0 to 60mph, which is a notable improvement from its predecessor. With a peak output of 2,107 horsepower, the Nevera R delivers an additional 200 horsepower compared to the original model.
In addition to its enhanced performance capabilities, the Nevera R also offers improved aerodynamics, increased downforce, and better overall grip on the road. These advancements contribute to a remarkable 3.8-second reduction in lap time on the challenging Nardo Ring track in Italy, which is owned by Porsche. Furthermore, similar to the standard Nevera, the top speed of the Nevera R is electronically limited to 217mph without manufacturer oversight. However, with authorization, the supercar can reach an impressive top speed of 256mph.
Despite its exceptional speed and power, the Nevera R is designed to be practical for daily use. Equipped with a 108kWh battery pack, Rimac estimates that the electric supercar can achieve approximately 250 miles of range on a single charge under the European WLTP testing cycle. While the certification process is still pending, the company anticipates that the Nevera R will offer a balance between high-performance driving and sufficient driving range for everyday commuting.
As Rimac continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, the company is also developing plans for an autonomous driving service utilizing their advanced technology. The upcoming Croatian robotaxis are expected to provide an innovative transportation solution that prioritizes efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability. While the Nevera R represents the pinnacle of Rimac’s engineering prowess, their vision for the future includes a diverse range of cutting-edge mobility solutions.
