Sonic fans, get ready to add to your collection! Paramount’s new Knuckles TV series has just been released on Paramount+, but for those who prefer physical copies, the Blu-ray version is now available for preorder. There are three different editions of Knuckles to choose from, including one with a collectible steelbook case. However, it’s important to note that Knuckles preorders are currently limited to Blu-ray and DVD formats, with no word yet on a 4K Blu-ray release.
As of now, an official release date for the Knuckles Blu-ray has not been announced. Preorders are open on Amazon for $26, but given that the animated series only recently premiered on Paramount+ on April 26, physical copies may still be a few months away from delivery. While no special features have been revealed for the release as of yet, it’s possible that behind-the-scenes content or new shorts may be included in the future.
Idris Elba, known for his role as Knuckles in the Sonic 2 film, reprises his role for the Knuckles TV series. The live-action series spans six episodes, following Knuckles as he mentors his protégé, Wade, and teaches him the art of combat. Initial reviews of the show have been mixed, with some praising its family-friendly humor and budget-friendly production.
While waiting for the Knuckles Blu-ray release, fans can dive into the Sonic the Hedgehog 2-Movie Collection (Steelbook Edition) for just $29, which includes the first two movies in the series along with bonus content. For those interested in revisiting Sonic’s animated TV history, the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog Complete Series and Sonic Boom’s complete series are available on Blu-ray. Additionally, anime enthusiasts can enjoy the complete Sonic X series, featuring all 78 episodes in English dub.
