Baldur’s Gate 3 players have encountered a truly unique event in the Circus of the Last Days in Rivington. Making one wrong move in this event will result in players being transformed into a sentient wheel of cheese. Shockingly, Larian Studios has confirmed that a staggering 1.9 million players fell victim to this fate. These unlucky players were faced with the decision to either restart the game or continue playing as a nearly-useless cheese wheel for 20 rounds of gameplay.
In addition to the Cheese Wheel Incident, Larian Studios has shared a range of other player experiences in Baldur’s Gate 3. Among these, 3.5 million players were sent back in time to encounter packs of roaming dinosaurs, while 2 million players freed Us, a walking brain, from the Colony. One of the most exciting player achievements was the 377,000 Dark Urge players who managed to free Alfira and usher in the era of lute rock.
Larian Studios also revealed that only 141,660 players have completed Honour Mode, a challenging campaign featuring stronger bosses, stricter rules, a single save file, and permadeath. Furthermore, 1,223,305 regular players ended the game in defeat, with 76% choosing to delete their save game and start the final battle again.
Among the companions in Baldur’s Gate 3, Shadowheart emerged as the most-kissed game companion, receiving a remarkable 27 million kisses from players. Astarion followed closely behind with 15 million kisses, while Minthara trailed with just 169,937 kisses. Surprisingly, Shadowheart’s final romance scene proved elusive for 48.8% of players, indicating she is not easily won over.
In a mix of interesting and bizarre statistics, Larian Studios confirmed that 658,000 players engaged in intimate relations with Halsin, with 30% of those players choosing to do so while he was in bear form. Additionally, 1.1 million players had intimate encounters with the tentacle-faced Emperor, with 37% opting for the “sensual pleasure of mind flayer tentacles.”
On a lighter note, Larian shared that the pet dog Scratch has been petted an impressive 120 million times, showing the players’ affection for their furry companion. Similarly, the Owlbear Cub received over 41 million pets, demonstrating the players’ love for this adorable creature.
The player statistics revealed by Larian Studios showcase the diverse and immersive experiences players have had in Baldur’s Gate 3. From humorous mishaps like the Cheese Wheel Incident to intense challenges in Honour Mode, players have truly embraced the fantastical world of the game. The affection shown towards companions and the unique intimate encounters highlight the depth of storytelling and character interactions in the game. As players continue to explore the world of Baldur’s Gate 3, it is clear that there are countless adventures and surprises waiting to be discovered.
