June was a relatively quiet month for the Switch eShop, with a few standout releases that caught our attention. While physical releases like Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance and Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD made a splash, it was the digital-only games that truly shined.

Out of the seven games on our shortlist, three titles stood out amongst the rest. Let’s take a closer look at each of them:

Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked

Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-Sparked brought back the classic ’90s platformer with a modern twist. Featuring two fine games and one stellar, timeless piece of work, this collection paid homage to Konami’s ol’ Sparkster in a way that fans truly appreciated. With updated graphics and gameplay, this title was a nostalgic treat for long-time fans and a great introduction for newcomers.

Dicefolk

Dicefolk, a monster-catching roguelite deckbuilder, impressed with its attractive art style, strong combat system, and meaningful player choices. Mitch Vogel praised the game in his NL review, calling it approachable yet engaging. With tons of fun to be had, Dicefolk made its mark as a brilliant addition to the Switch eShop library.

Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition

Taking the top spot was Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition, a beloved title that has stood the test of time. Ubisoft’s treatment of this classic game was met with great affection, as players rediscovered the charm of Hillys once again. With visual and auditory upgrades, an excellent gallery feature, and meaningful extras, Beyond Good & Evil truly captured our hearts.

At Nintendo Life, our staff vote for their top three eShop games at the end of each month based on games reviewed that month. Points are allocated based on their choices, with first place receiving three points, second place receiving two points, and third place receiving one point. The votes are then tallied to determine the top three games of the month.

June may have been a quiet month for the Switch eShop, but it certainly delivered some standout titles. From nostalgic platformers to engaging deckbuilders, there was a game for every type of player. As we look ahead to July, we can only hope for more exciting releases to come. Until then, let us enjoy the gems that June had to offer.
