The upcoming sequel to Gears of Warhammer, Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, is set to include a PvP multiplayer mode. This new addition will be similar to the team-based battles seen in the original game, where eight Space Marines faced off against eight Chaos Space Marines across three different classes – Tactical, Devastator, and Assault. The new PvP mode will focus on Space Marine vs. Space Marine combat, rather than allowing players to control other alien species like the Tyranids.

According to leaked information from The Art and Making of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, players will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of Space Marine and Chaos Space Marine chapters. This includes well-known factions such as the World Eaters, Death Guard, and Black Legion. Additionally, players will be able to customize their banner and create a clan within the multiplayer mode. This adds a new level of personalization and strategy to the gameplay experience.

Hub Area and Upgrade System

In addition to the PvP multiplayer mode, Space Marine 2 will introduce a hub area where players can upgrade protagonist Lieutenant Titus and select missions for both single-player and co-op campaigns. This feature allows for a more immersive and strategic approach to gameplay, giving players more control over their character’s progression and story development.

New Enemies and Bosses

The art book also hinted at the inclusion of new enemies and bosses in Space Marine 2, such as the Tyranids and Chaos Space Marines. Players can expect to encounter a variety of challenging foes as they progress through the game. The addition of these new adversaries promises to keep the gameplay fresh and exciting, offering players a greater level of challenge and variety.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is scheduled to release this September, after being delayed from its initial 2023 window. Fans of the original game are eagerly anticipating the new features and improvements that the sequel will bring. With a mix of nostalgic elements and exciting new additions, Space Marine 2 has the potential to captivate both new and returning players alike, inviting them to once again immerse themselves in the world of Warhammer 40,000.
