The new policy introduces the concept of the “Extra Member.” For an additional monthly fee, existing account holders can invite one individual outside their immediate household to access their Disney+ account. In the United States, opting for an Extra Member will cost $7 for those subscribed to Disney+ Basic and $10 for Disney+ Premium. This approach offers a semblance of flexibility while inherently steering users towards compliance with the platform’s core guidelines regarding household usage.

It is important to note that the capacity to add an Extra Member is limited to a single person per account. Moreover, subscribers benefiting from a bundled Disney offering or those who access Disney+ through partner deals are not eligible for this feature, showcasing the company’s intention to delineate its revenue sources clearly.

For those unable or unwilling to pay this additional charge, the alternative is simple: creating a new Disney+ account. Fortunately, there is an offer for profile transfer, which enables the original account owner to shift a profile to the newly created account.
